Like every other arts organization, the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts relies on community support. As a public school, our funding is based upon a standard headcount formula. That covers the facility and the academics, but not our Artists-in-Residence program and related arts resources.
Since the founding of the school, the Artists-in-Residence program contracts annually with more than 60 professional artists to mentor our students. This guarantees that each student in each artistic discipline receives professional training in their chosen specialty, regardless of their financial status.
As a public school, there is no mandatory cost to the families, but each year the Parents' Annual Fund raises as much of this budget as possible. For the balance of the unmet need, we depend on community support. Please help us continue this valuable program. You can donate online, or contact us at info@fosota.org for more information.
