She received a scholarship to New York University where she earned her BFA. She also attended The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, where she
studied and performed Shakespeare. After graduation she moved to Los Angeles where she designed and implemented a Shakespeare program in the area's "Title I" schools. Liz is currently a professional working actor in theater, film and television. | Cash, Aya | Theatre |
|
Aya Cash graduated from the Guthrie BFA Acting Program at the University of Minnesota. She appeared in the Great River Shakespeare Festival in 2004. She has most recently been getting rave reviews for her New York theater work, most recently Bruce Norris' The Itch and the Pain (2006) and Philistines by Maxim Gorky (2004). http://theater2.nytimes.com/2006/09/22/theater/reviews/22itch.html "But if the show has one standout performance, it's from Aya Cash, a relative newcomer to the New York stage. She takes the theoretically stereotypical role of Kalina and makes her not just hysterical (in both senses of the word) but smart -- even wise -- in a way that none of the more educated characters on stage can hope to match. It's the kind of performance that could -- and should -- be remembered during awards season. It remains to be seen if New York audiences are ultimately willing to laugh at Norris' less-than flattering version of themselves. If so, The Pain and the Itch is not only a satire that won't close on Saturday night; it could become Playwrights Horizons' next commercial hit."

When he was just seven Totah began writing poetry to fill a creative urge and to articulate his feelings. Totah's father encouraged his creative development and introduced him to different genres of music and musical instruments. Totah opened the door to a musical career by going to San Francisco's School of the Arts High School to play the classical French horn and baritone tuba. Totah met Carlos Santana's son, Salvador, at school. In 1999, Totah performed for the first time on stage with Carlos and Salvador Santana at a benefit concert for his high school.
