Sam Rockwell, who attended SOTA for two years, was part of
the Labyrinth theater ensemble in New York, founded by Philip Seymour
Hoffman and John Ortiz. The NY Times article says he "embodied an
excitement, a raw, energetic passion ..."
Aya Cash graduated from the Guthrie BFA Acting Program at the University of
Minnesota... She has
most recently been getting rave reviews for her New York theater work...
Korean-American Margaret Cho graduated in Theater in the late 1980s, when SOTA was on the McAteer campus. San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom
declared April 30, 2008 "Margaret Cho Day". The related festivities
were taped, along with a set that evening a the Punchline Comedy Club.
Aisha Tyler graduated in Theater from
SOTA in 1986, when the school was on the McAteer campus. She attended
Dartmouth and first pursued a career as an advertising executive. She
quickly changed course to pursue a solo standup comedy act in the 1990s
in Los Angeles.
