The Friends of School of the Arts Foundation is dedicated to supporting San Francisco's premier public arts high school.

We work closely with the school to identify current and future unmet needs and strive to secure funding. The aim is excellence and diversity. Arts education is typically more expensive - artists in residence, arts supplies, musical instruments, technical equipment, educational trips, master classes, etc. Of course, we have also assisted the academic program - course fees, Advanced Placement tests, textbooks, student publications, and collaborative projects.

The Alumni Association is one of the committees under the Foundation's umbrella, chaired by former Principal Joe Rosenblatt and alumni parent Sandra Halladey. We'd love to hear from all of you, so please update your contact info, send us pics, videos, sound files and we'll post them.  Check back often for news, reunions, etc.  

We provide funds to the school for various outreach efforts to under-served communities. Some projects have focused on assistance with the audition process, as well as instruction for middle schools. We continue to support both diversity and excellence.

The Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 non profit governed by a volunteer board composed of teachers, administrators, parents, cultural and business leaders and alumni. Our federal tax id is: 94 337 3066.
